Easily route and control current pathways in dual-circuit experiments with the AMBA 2-Way Plug Key. Built with heavy brass blocks and precision-ground brass plugs, this classic physics lab instrument provides smooth, low-resistance switching for electrical experiments. Mounted on an insulating, non-conductive black base, this 2-way plug key features three heavy-duty solid brass blocks separated by two precise tapered gap channels. It includes three screw-type knurled brass binding posts for connecting circuit leads and two removable brass plugs with insulated ebonite/bakelite handles. Inserting or removing the brass plugs completes or breaks electrical continuity between the central terminal and either of the two side terminals, allowing seamless switching between two separate electrical paths. Precision machined from heavy-gauge solid brass blocks for excellent conductivity and minimal electrical resistance. The tapered plug design fits snugly into the block gaps to ensure maximum contact area and zero contact resistance. Ergonomic black bakelite/ebonite handles allow safe, shock-free insertion and removal during operation. The thick, durable non-conductive base provides benchtop stability and safety during high-frequency circuit testing. Ideal for physics circuit experiments, potential gradient experiments, potentiometer setups, and dual-way circuit switching. Widely used in experiments involving potentiometers such as comparing the EMFs of two primary cells and Wheatstone bridge circuits where alternating between two voltage sources or pathways is needed. Keep the brass gaps and tapered plugs clean for optimal conductivity. If oxidation occurs, gently wipe the brass contact surfaces with fine emery paper or brass polish to ensure minimal contact resistance.
